League group filter: regions and esports titles
The group filter keeps only matchups whose league belongs to the groups you select. In esports a group is the game itself, CS2, Dota 2 or League of Legends; in other sports it is a region or competition grouping.
What the group filter does
Leagues are organized into groups, and this filter works one level above the league filter: instead of ticking twenty individual leagues, you select the group that contains them. In esports the group is the game title, so one click scopes your strategy to every CS2 competition, or every Dota 2 one. In traditional sports, groups gather leagues by region or competition type, letting you target, for example, all of a continent's competitions at once. Multiple groups combine with OR logic.
Why grouping beats hand-picking leagues
Hand-picked league lists silently go stale: new tournaments appear, others fold, and your strategy never sees them. A group keeps the scope current, which matters enormously in esports where the tournament calendar reshuffles every season. It also keeps your backtest honest, because you are testing an idea on a whole ecosystem rather than on a list of leagues you may have unconsciously picked because they performed well.
Example strategies
- Scope a strategy to CS2 only, then add a best of X filter to separate volatile Bo1 matches from steadier Bo3 series.
- Build a regional soccer strategy on one continent's leagues, where scheduling and market depth are comparable, instead of a global sample.
Combining it with other filters
A group defines the universe; the rest of the strategy defines the angle. Inside a group, add an odds range to pin the price segment, or a result streak to ride form. If you want a sharper cut than geography, the league liquidity filter separates deep, liquid markets from soft ones using Pinnacle betting limits. The group filter is available on the free Explorer plan.
