Scoring streak filter: over and under runs

What the scoring streak filter does

The filter watches one scoring dimension across a team's consecutive matches: what it scored, what it conceded, or the match total, and checks the value against a threshold with an at-least or below comparison. Keep matchups where the condition held for a minimum run of matches, optionally capped by a maximum. Total below 3 in soccer is the familiar "under 2.5 hit" family; total at or above 3 is the overs family, and thresholds adapt to each sport's scoring scale.

Why scoring streaks matter for totals bettors

Moneyline form and totals form are different things. A team can win five straight while its matches drift from 3-2 shootouts to 1-0 grinds, and only the scoring lens sees the change. Runs of overs or unders often reflect real tactical shifts, a new manager parking the bus, an injury to the main striker, a defense clicking, before season-long averages catch up. They are also where the public overreacts, inflating overs prices after a run of goals, which cuts both ways: ride the trend or fade it.

Example strategies

• Target teams whose last 4 or more matches all stayed under 2.5 goals, and test whether the unders trend continues at current prices.
• Catch leaking defenses: teams that conceded 2 or more in each of their last 3, feeding an overs or both-teams-to-score strategy.

Combining it with other filters

Streaks tell you the direction; averages tell you the level. Combine with goals average so a short run is backed by a real scoring baseline, or with scoring rate for the tolerant rate version of the same condition.
