SoccerForm & streaks
Hot away form betting system, backtested
Instead of a streak, this template measures a rate: away teams that have won at least 6 of their last 10 matches, wherever they played.
Streaks are fragile; rates are steadier. A team can lose once and still be in excellent form, which is exactly what a windowed win rate captures and a streak filter misses. This template applies that idea to away sides, the half of the market where public bettors are most skeptical.
How the filter tree works
- Recent results rate: the away team must have won at least 60% of its last 10 matches, counted across all venues.
One filter, deliberately, so the backtest isolates the form signal.
What to watch
- A 10-match window mixes home and away performances. Strong home form can mask weak travel form.
- 60% of 10 is just 6 wins. One result moves the rate by 10 points, so the threshold is noisier than it looks.
- In-form away teams at big clubs still lose often. Check how the system performs by odds bracket.
Tweaks to try
- Scope the window to away matches only for a purer travel-form signal.
- Raise the threshold to 70% and compare sample against performance.
- Add an odds range to focus on underdog or favorite prices specifically.
Form sells itself; prices decide profit. Verify the combination in backtesting on Pinnacle closing odds for soccer.
