Head-to-head win run betting system
The home team beat this same opponent in their last two meetings. This template tests whether recent direct dominance carries into the next match.
Commentators love the line: they have won the last few meetings between these sides. This template encodes it exactly, a current winning run in the direct matchup, and lets the backtest decide whether the pattern earns money at closing prices.
How the filter tree works
- H2H results streak: the home team must have won at least the last 2 consecutive meetings with this exact opponent, counted at any venue.
Compared with the head-to-head rate filter, the streak version demands that the wins be the most recent meetings, unbroken.
What to watch
- Two meetings is the thinnest evidence a filter can rest on. Expect noise to dominate any signal.
- Matches against the same opponent can be a year apart. The team that won twice may barely resemble today's lineup.
- Because qualifying teams are usually stronger, the odds are often short, so a small edge disappears quickly into the price.
Tweaks to try
- Raise the run to 3 or more and watch how rare the spots become.
- Add an odds range to skip unbackable short prices.
- Test the away mirror: visitors who won the recent meetings.
An interesting spot-finder, not a system by itself. Prove it in backtesting on Pinnacle closing odds for soccer.
