Win streaks, no Mondays: betting system
Take the streak angle, then subtract the awkward fixtures: this template excludes Monday and Tuesday matches with a NOT group.
Every filter so far selected matches; this template also excludes them. NOT groups are how you carve exceptions out of a system, and here the exception is the start of the week, low-profile fixtures, rotated squads and odd scheduling.
How the filter tree works
- Result streak: the home team arrives on a winning streak of at least 3 matches, any venue.
- A NOT group wrapping day of week: matches played on Monday or Tuesday are thrown out, whatever else is true.
The pattern to remember: AND combines requirements, NOT subtracts a slice you do not trust.
What to watch
- The exclusion is a hypothesis like any other. Maybe early-week fixtures are fine; only the comparison run can say.
- Removing days costs sample size, and streak filters are already selective. Watch the bet count.
- Beware of stacking exclusions until the system fits the past perfectly, that is overfitting by subtraction.
Tweaks to try
- Run the same system without the NOT group and diff the two curves; that difference is the entire value of the exclusion.
- Exclude congested midweeks instead, via a match-density filter.
- Raise the streak to 4 to sharpen the base signal.
Exclusions must earn their keep. Measure this one in backtesting on Pinnacle closing odds for soccer.
